If events here on earth are causing you concern, you might want to think twice before looking to the heavens for comfort!
Right now, there are six planets in retrograde. While retrograde planets aren’t always a bad thing, they do have the effect of shaking up the status quo – and that’s not always comfortable!
On the upside, there’s a lot to be learned during these times, and many opportunities for spiritual growth. The next few months will require you to be centered, present and self-aware. And remember, any situation gets better when you apply some forgiveness, compassion, and unconditional love.
So why the “warning?” What’s going on astrologically?
Here’s a quick overview of the planets that are retrograde, what each means, and how you might be affected:
Saturn—is retrograde in Capricorn—until September 29. Saturn represents boundaries, responsibility, karma, government and institutions.
Pluto-is retrograde in Capricorn—until October 4. This has us facing our unconsciousness. It brings a test of faith.
Mars is retrograde in Aries—until November 13. This can shake things up when it comes to our libidos and ambition.
Neptune—is retrograde in Pisces until November 28. This strips away illusions and cover-ups. Dealing with addictions and any form of escapism. When Neptune is retrograde we seek oneness within ourselves. The message is separation is an illusion and that we are all one.
Chiron is retrograde in Aries until December 15th, 2020. When Chiron, the wounded healer, goes retrograde, the wounds that have been buried deep in our subconscious come to light. It’s like a window of opportunity that allows us to fully glance at our soul’s past journey,
Uranus is retrograde in Taurus until January 14, 2021. During this time, we can expect the unexpected. Uranus is the “Awakener,” and it brings sudden changes and shocks.
How can you get the most out of this time? Planets in retrograde tend can force you out of your comfort zone. They stir up truths that have been suppressing and present karmic lessons that will lead to growth. Worrying and complaining should be avoided – and as much time as possible dedicated to mindfulness and self-reflection.
Personally, I find that whenever the universe is prompting me to make a change, it helps to do three things. You might find it helpful to give one or all of them a try:
- Not surprisingly, when you detach from your racing thoughts and sit in the silence, you allow space for whatever truths you’ve been trying to push down to come to the surface. Here’s a way to visualize what’s happening. Imagine a turbulent pool. You can’t see the bottom when everything is churning around, but when the water calms and the sand settles, you can see clearly into the depths.
And seeing clearly is the first step toward understanding.
- Tap into your intuition. As a psychic medium, I’m accustomed to letting my intuition guide me. You have psychic gifts too – and now is the time to use them. Meditation is a great first step, and to take it a step further, you can also get in the habit of asking the universe for guidance. Start the day by setting your intention to grow and learn. You might try an affirmation like “I welcome whatever lessons the universe has to teach me” or “I am open and receptive to messages that will help me to grow.”
- Journal and write. I can’t think of a better way to process challenging new ideas than by journaling and writing about them. Try mindful writing, jotting down your thoughts as they come. Let your inner wisdom guide your pencil as you look for the meaning that is being revealed to you.
